Epoxy and more: overview of all coatings

Apart from the standard epoxy coating we offer numerous other coatings for valves and advise you individually on your needs. Factors such as flow temperature, medium and valve size are decisive for the choice of surface coating.

 Expoy coating
Epoxy

As a standard coating material for bob综合体育官网下载 valves, the epoxy coating meets the requirements defined by the GSK (Gütegemeinschaft Schwerer Korrosionsschutz [Quality Assurance Association for Heavy-Duty Corrosion Protection]) as well as other national and ISO standards. It guarantees resistance to corrosion and high abrasion resistance even with buried products. In addition, the epoxy coating impresses with its very good adhesion to cast iron and outstanding impact resistance. The surface is non-porous and anti-adhesive. Further details:

  • Coating technology: Application using the dipping or fluidised bed process, without the use of thinners
  • Resistance: suitable for working temperatures of up to 70 °C*
  • Areas of use:  Drinking water, cooling water, process water, fire extinguishing water, pre-cleaned wastewater and natural gas

 Acrylic coating
Acrylic

Ideal for valves under extreme weather influences, such as fire hydrants: Acrylic varnish is resistant to weathering, UV light and abrasion. It protects against corrosion and withstands permanent stress. It is available in all RAL colours. Further details:

  • Coating technology: Application by means of airless spraying
  • Resistance: Suitable for working temperatures of up to 70 °C*
  • Areas of use:  Industrial applications with high air humidity and aggressive atmospheres, as a top coat for UV protection; usable for virtually all valves

 Rubber lining coating
Rubber lining

Ideal for use in brackish and sea water: The special hard rubber lining is non-porous and impresses with high hardness, outstanding adhesive properties and high chemical resistance. It is made of high-quality synthetic or natural rubber. Optionally available as a special rubber lining for drinking water applications. Further details:

  • Coating technology: Vacuum extrusion, vulcanisation, five layers with a total layer thickness of three millimetres
  • Resistance: suitable for working temperatures of up to 100 °C*
  • Areas of use: chemical industry, mining, processing of seawater and minerals, brackish water, chlorine, hot steam

 Patig coatings
PATIG (VK 2000/VK 2001)

This particularly durable and wear-resistant 2-component coating meets the highest demands with regard to mechanical and chemical resistance. Its smooth, non-porous surface reduces frictional resistance - ideal for prevention and maintenance. Further details:

  • Coating technology: Airless spraying, alternatively by manual application, recommended layer thickness 500 µm
  • Resistance: VK2000 is suitable for working temperatures up to 50 °C*, VK 2001 up to 60 °C*
  • Areas of use: chemical industry, pulp and paper industry, power plants, water works, cooling systems, cement works, mining, processing of sea water and minerals, river and brackish water, chlorine, hot steam

 Halar coating
HALAR® ECTFE

As a thermoplastic fluoropolymer, HALAR®ECTFE features extremely high heat resistance and impresses with its reliable corrosion protection. Its smooth, non-porous surface with very good non-stick properties prevents the adhesion of dirt particles. The melting point of HALAR® lies around 240 °C.

  • Coating technology: at high temperatures; priming necessary
  • Resistance: suitable for working temperatures of up to 150 °C*, resistant to virtually all chemicals, highly concentrated acids and alkalis, oils, organic acids and other aggressive media
  • Areas of use: chemical and pharmaceutical industry, power plants, refineries, food industry, gas industry, power supply and abrasive media

The media and areas of use do not represent any general application possibility or resistance. In case of special coatings, please contact us in general before placing an order and please provide us with an analysis of the medium.

* not generally valid, since other components of the valve may only be designed for lower working temperatures
